Tainted doctor in West Bengal heads Mamata's 12-member experts' committee to deal with the ensuing pandemic crisis


Dr Sukumar Mukherjee (83) advising Mamata in Bengal's fight against Covid19, was indicted in India's worst medical negligence case, the death of Anuradha Saha (36) US-based psychologist in 1998. Her husband Dr Kunal Saha fought a long and protracted legal battle  seeking justice for his deceased wife.
Dr Mukherjee's licence was suspended by the Medical Council of India after Supreme Court's verdict.
Dr Mukherjee heads the 12-member experts' committee to deal with the ensuing pandemic crisis in the state. According to an official communication dated March 26, 2020 issued by the state health department, the committee was mandated to advise the state government in its strategy for the overall treatment protocol, isolation, quarantine, testing along with the expansion of healthcare infrastructure.
