Uday Kumar Singha, a sub inspector of West Bengal Police posted in South Dinajpur district hoisted the national flag on India's 75th Independence Day on 2021-08-15 and sang a patriotic folk song with his fellow colleagues.
The song was originally sung by late Hemanta Mukherjee.
However, what was striking/ unusual was that he sung the song wearing his official uniform and used 'khol kartal' (traditional folk musical instruments).
Although it might appear funny, it's undoubtedly a commendable initiative.
Let's only hope that the Queen of the state doesn't take offence and punish the police official because the good deed was not 'inspired' by HER. Anyone doing anything and earning goodwill without HER 'anuprerona' is on the firing line!
