A large team of CBI officials reached the house of Late Abhijit Sarkar in Kankurgachi area of Kolkata on Thursday, 2021-08-26 morning. Abhijit was mercilessly attacked and butchered within a few hours by TMChii rioters after the West Bengal assembly polls results were announced on 2021-05-02 evening.
Abhijit's elder brother, Biswajit Sarkar showed the CBI team around and assisted them with facts. He also ensured that Kolkata Police officials from the homicide department were not present while the investigation was on.
Mindless violence, rape and killings were carried out on BJP supporters and Hindus all across West Bengal by TMChii goons who were motivated to act with the 'Khela Hobe' slogan.
Mamata's election speeches further incited the rogues. Mamata had called for revenge with the infamous 'Tarpor, Tarpor, Tarpor' rhetorics during her election campaign sitting on a wheelchair and that only added fuel to the fire after the election results were declared.
Based on the NHRC report submitted to High Court in Kolkata, the learned court order a massive CBI enquiry on the 'post poll violence' in early August 2021. The report has to be submitted within 6 weeks.
