Diggers from outside need to be engaged to bury the Covid-19 deceased in Catholic cemetery, Sewri, Mumbai

Authorities of the Catholic cemetery (a public property owned by BMC) in Sewri, Mumbai are asking relatives of those who have died of Covid-19 to bring their own diggers with them. This is in spite of the cemetery having their own people to do the job. The normal charges for doing the task is ₹800. However, diggers from outside are asking for anything upwards of ₹4000.
Moreover, there are no proven scientific evidence that the virus can spread from the dead.
