Taniya Bhardwaj (then 22), a student of political science at Presidency University was labelled a Maoist and a CPM cadre by Mamata Banerjee during a live television interview conducted by Sagarika Ghosh at the Town Hall in Kolkata on Friday 2012-05-18 for asking the Trinamool Congress chief about the deteriorating law and order situation in West Bengal, especially when it came to crime against women.
Finding herself in a fix, Mamata opened the lapel Mike and walked off the stage.
