TMChiii rogue Jahangir Khan of Falta, near Diamond Harbour, South 24 Parganas district was arrested on 2026-06-08 while he was trying to escape to Nepal via the North Bengal route. He was brought to Falta/ Diamond Harbour.
With ropes tied around his waist he was made to parade in shots and with folded hands. He was also made to do situps holding his ears.
His wife led a huge mob and laid siege to the police station demanding Jahangir's release on Tuesday 2026-06-16.
Police retaliated with a strong hand. Many were seen jumping into water bodies.
CM Suvendu Adhikari publicly promised more action on rogues in West Bengal.
