Mamata as Ma Durga with Ganesh sitting on her lap was the theme of a Ganesh Chaturthi celebration on 2021-09-12 by a club (Jagaran Sangha) inspired by the 'greatness' of Mamata Banerjee in Harishchandrapur, Malda district, West Bengal. 

As if that was not crass enough, the organizers of the club held a night long soiree where raunchy dance was performed by hired girls with the tune of Bollywood music blaring from loudspeakers. A TMChii worker even tried to hold the hand of a dancer on stage but backed off when other TMChii workers asked him to refrain from what he was about to do. 

That's the culture of TMChii. Nothing better could have been expected from them. 

And this also defines the mindset of fabled 'culturally rich' Bengalis most of whom carry the ChiiPeeMul mentality.

While the arrival of coronavirus in India has made Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President JP Nadda decide not to attend the Holi meet this year, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has come up with a grand conspiracy theory that all this is meant to divert attention from the Delhi riots. The Modi government has created the coronavirus, she said!

“Today some people are shouting corona, corona [coronavirus] a bit too much. Yes, it is a dreaded disease, but don’t create panic. Some channels are hyping it to suppress the Delhi incident do report when it occurs we don’t want it to spread but do remember all those who died in Delhi, did not die of coronavirus,” the chief minister said in her speech.

Mamata Banerjee said this while addressing activists in Kolkata. The chief minister said, “No one knows how many people died in the Delhi riots. In order to divert the attention of the people, they (central government) are raising the coronavirus issue with the help of TV channels. Their motive is that people do not ask how many people have actually died.”

The chief minister said, “Even if a rat dies in Bengal, these people (BJP people) demand a CBI inquiry. At the same time, there was no judicial inquiry into how many people were killed in Delhi. I demand a judicial inquiry by the judges of the Supreme Court.”

Mamata Banerjee claimed that more than 700 people were still missing after the Delhi violence. “The situation is not good in Delhi. Many became homeless. Zombies are coming out of the drains,” she exclaimed.

Describing the Delhi riot as a pogrom, Mamata Banerjee asked the Trinamool Congress activists to propagate it as “genocide, not violence”.

The West Bengal chief minister seems to be in a rapid-fire round of bloopers. yesterday, she had claimed that Bangladeshi infiltrators who had been voting in India (undetected as Bangladeshis) were now citizens of this country.

বিস্ফোরণে কেঁপে উঠল বাংলা। তৃণমূল নেতার বাড়িতে প্রবল বিস্ফোরণে। বিস্ফোরণে উড়ে গিয়েছে বাড়ির ছাদ। চাঞ্চল্যকর ঘটনাটি ঘটেছে বীরভূমের ইলামবাজারে। ঘটনাকে কেন্দ্র করে ব্যাপক চাঞ্চল্য তৈরি হয়েছে এলাকায়, ইতিমধ্যে ঘটনার খবর পেয়েই ঘটনাস্থলে পৌঁছেছে বিশাল পুলিশ বাহিনী। কীভাবে এই বিস্ফোরণ তা খতিয়ে দেখা হচ্ছে।

 জানা গিয়েছে, তৃণমূল নেতা মিনাতুন মোল্লাহ পঞ্চায়েত সদস্য বলে জানা গিয়েছে।

পুলিশ সূত্রে খবর, হঠাত করে আজ বুধবার সন্ধ্যায় প্রবল বিস্ফোরণের শব্দ শোনা যায়। বিস্ফোরণের তীব্রতা এতটাই ছিল যে মিনাতুন মোল্লাহর বাড়ির ছাদ উড়ে যায়। এলাকায় তীব্র চাঞ্চল্য তৈরি হয়। রীতিমত স্থানীয় মানুষজন ছোটাছুটি শুরু হয়ে যায়। স্থানীয় মানুষজনই বীরভূম পুলিশ-প্রশাসনকে বিস্ফোরণের খবর দেয়। খবর পেয়েই ঘটনাস্থলে আসে বিশাল পুলিশ বাহিনী।

এখনও পর্যন্ত হতাহতের কোনও খবর পাওয়া যায়নি। তবে ভস্মীভূত হয়ে গিয়েছে গোটা বাড়িটি। ভেঙে পড়েছে বাড়ির ছাদ।

ঘটনায় মুখে কুলুপ এঁটেছে স্থানীয় তৃণমূল নেতৃত্ব। যদিও বিজেপি এই ঘটনায় সুর চড়িয়েছে। তাঁদের দাবি, বীরভূমের মাটিতে বোমা শিল্প ক্রমশ উন্নতি করছে। আর পুলিশ-প্রশাসন সব জেনেও চুপ করে আছে বলে দাবি স্থানীয় বিজেপি নেতৃত্বের।

বীরভূমে অবশ্য বিস্ফোরণের ঘটনা নতুন নয়।

গত বছরেই বীরভূমের মহম্মদবাজারে পাথরখাদানে বিস্ফোরণ হয়। বিস্ফোরণে ১৩ জনের মৃত্যু হয়। মজুত বিস্ফোরক সরাতে গিয়ে বিস্ফোরণ বলে জানা যায়।

বিস্ফোরণের পর মৃত্যুর সংখ্যা ঢাকতে এলাকা ঘিরে ফেলে পাথর খাদানের সঙ্গে যুক্ত মানুষজন। স্থানীয় মানুষকে বাধা দেওয়ার পিছনে স্থানীয় প্রশাসন যুক্ত রয়েছে বলেও অভিযোগ ওঠে।
