Selling and buying of Halal certified products have been banned in UP. On 2025-10-23, Yogi Adityanath spelled it out in no uncertain terms that the money earned by Halal Certification goes to fund terr*ori*sm, love jihad and religious conversion.
Yogiji gave out examples of weird products like matchsticks amd bathing soaps which are sold in the market as halal certified.
