Islam behind Pakistan ICC2023 (in)discipline - Matthee Hayden 😃

Islam and discipline  ..... ha ha ha ha 😃

Former Australian cricketer Matthew Hayden has commended the Pakistani cricket team for their discipline, both on and off the field, attributing it in part to their strong adherence to Islam. Hayden made these remarks while providing commentary during the Pakistan-Australia ICC World Cup 2023 warm-up match in Hyderabad.

Hayden, a former Australian batting sensation, noted, "Well, it is very focused around Islam, which is a central and core thing to this playing unit. The way of life in the Pakistan team leads to greater discipline, which I greatly admire after all cricket is a discipline as well."

He continued, highlighting the values of commitment, investment, and consistency, which, in his view, are inherent in the culture of Islam and are reflected in the Pakistani team's approach to the game.

Despite a commendable performance by skipper Babar Azam and Iftikhar Ahmed, Pakistan fell short in their chase of 352 runs, resulting in their second consecutive loss in the warm-up matches.

The ICC World Cup 2023 is scheduled to take place in India, featuring 10 teams vying for the coveted title at 10 venues from October 5 to November 19, with the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad hosting the tournament opener and the final. The tournament will employ a round-robin format with all teams playing each other in 45 league matches. The top four teams will advance to the semifinals, slated for November 15 and 16 in Mumbai and Kolkata, respectively, with reserve days allocated for the semi-finals and final.
