Jadavpur University left wing students celebrated 'chumu utsav' (kissing festival) to convey to the world that they are ultra liberals and they wouldn't allow anyone to monitor their unacceptable activities, which we normal people would consider totally unacceptable and obnoxious.
Their slogan in Bengali translates to "It's our body, it's our mind, we will do whatever we feel like doing".
A 1st year BA (Bangla Hons) student was subjected to extreme ragging and subsequent murder inside the Jadavpur University campus late on 2023-08-09 evening just prior to midnight. By end-August 2023, over a dozen students and ex-students have been arrested for their involvement in the murder, which the accused and the commie leaders are wanting to pass off as suicide.
The authorities want to install CCTV cameras at all vantage points, but the students and left leaders don't want it. They feel that their privacy will be hampered. They have refused to budge from their stand because they are of the opinion that smoking drinking, substance abuse, and obscenities and more are their rights. They consider the university campus as their 2nd home and therefore they don't want anyone to intrude into their privacy.
