West Bengal is about to get its third Vande Bharat Express. The first was Howrah - New Jalpaiguri - Howrah. The second was Puri - Howrah - Puri.
The trial run for the third, viz. Patna - Howrah - Patna got over on Sunday 2023-08-06 and will commence commercial run within the next few days.
Hear this young man from Bankura who travelled over 40 kms to witness the Vande Bharat Express passing through my own hometown, Asansol on the last day of the trial run.
The excitement in the man's voice is palpable although the dialect might amuse the I-know-it-all urban residents of Kolkata with a repulsive commie/ tolamul mindset.
Let's not forget that a poor district like Bankira in WB elected quite a few BJP MLAs because the residents of the district earnestly wanted a double engine BJP government vis-a-vis its urban counterparts!
He says that he is proud of the development and will make it a point to travel in it someday. His expression of happiness will surely make every true Indian equally happy.
