Here's what happened at Nil Ratan Sarkar Medical College and Hospital (NRSMCH) in Kolkata on Monday, 2019-06-10 evening.
There was total mayhem after a 87 yrs old patient died around 5.30pm on 2019-06-10. 15 members of the patient party instantly blamed and attacked 2 junior doctors who were on duty.
A little later two truckloads of 150+ Muslim hooligans forcibly entered the gated hospital and attacked the junior docs who by them were joined by their colleagues from hostels. The incident resulted in serious injuries to 2 young intern doctors.
The CM threatened the striking docs of dire consequences on 2019-06-13.
Docs and professionals from all walks of life have expressed solidarity with striking doctors in West Bengal.
