Cyclone Arnab is expected to reach its peak intensity over the Bay of Bengal on Tuesday 2026-10-27, and the weather forecast has changed since the initial projections. WHile IMD predicted wind speeds of 115 - 125 kmph gusting up to 140 kmph, the latest notification released this noon gives increased numbers, with winds of 150 - 160 kmph and gusts reaching 180 kmph around midday and evening, according to the IMD forecast.
The storm is likely to weaken slightly before making landfall near Yanam early Wednesday 2026-10-28, with wind speeds of 125 - 135 kmph and gusts of up to 150 kmph.
By Wednesday 2026-10-28 evening, wind speeds are expected to fall below 100 kmph.
