Riju Dutta, ex-TMC spokesman who has been suspended from the party tried to project himself innocent. He blamed I-PAC for all the wrongdoings in TMC and the drubbing the party received in the assembly election in 2026. He wanted people to believe that all his threats to people and particularly to IPS Ajay Pal Sharma till a day before 4th May (the date on which the results were announced) were narratives by I-PAC. He is also heard saying that a senior person in I-PAC had asked him to pay ₹25 lacs for a TMC ticket for the Debra seat.
