I detest this man to the moon and back from the day I watched him on a television interview more than 20 years ago. A couple of years later, the day this chaapri (squid) opened his shirt and frantically waved it from the stands, I can't tolerate the look of his face till this day.
I eat, drink, sleep sales, marketing and communication. I understand human behaviour to the back of my palms. Icon starved Bengalis had no other option but to dwell with laurels of forefathers. And then came this opportunistic guy who was genuinely good in his profession. He was a godsend of an icon for Bengalis to cling onto for hero worship. Bengalis started worshipping him like a God and elevated him to a sky high pedestal and called him Maharaj. Thankfully, Bengalis have lately started understanding this self centered opportunistic chameleon who was sponsored by the 'gorment' to fly to Spain in an overcrowded aeroplane of chappal lickers to announce his foray into steel making đ°.
Ever since 2021, every other Bengali I met were sure that this opportunist hero would be BJP's CM candidate for WB. I used to tell all such people that if it happens, India will have the most corrupt CM that the country has ever had since independence. Needless to mention I used to add a rejoinder that my favourite motabhais from Delhi/ Gujarat were no fools. They won't remotely consider this guy to sit on the hallowed chair in Writer's Building, if at all the the situation demands!
When a portly Chanakya Gujju bhai during his two days of stay in Kolkata went to have dinner at his house in Behala on 6th May 2022, Bengalis were thrilled that this guy will surely be BJP's face for the topmost chair in WB soon thereafter. Anyone with zero cognitive power who would narrate me their predictions got the the same reply from me, viz. jackals will never fly.
I have always maintained that this bloke is a bad human being. Years ago when I called him a bad person and supported Greg Chapel's views about him, there were people who got into a verbal fight with me. Greg Chapel was 100% right.

Barring, Fortune edible oil (Adani Wilmar), every other brand that this guy endorsed/ endorses are absolutely ghatiya ones. Some of those brands are Magic lamps, Lalbaba rice, LUX Cozy, Polycrol, My 11 Circle, Cycle dhoop, Senco Gold, Captain TMT.
Quite a few brands of national repute which had signed him in realized their mistake later in the day and quietly chucked him out. His face and know-it-all body language did/ does more harm to the brands than good.
After his utterly stupid and irresponsible utterances (see the video) following the Abhaya brutal rape and murder case on 2024-08-09 at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, there's already a mass public demand to boycott brands endorsed by this guy. Brands will do good to chuck him out without any hesitation whatsoever.
