With the Padma award coming SP Balasubramaniam's way in January 2021 (albeit, posthumously), he now comes equal to Padmashree Saif Ali Khan.
Shree Shree Saif Ali Khan recieved the Padma Shree in 2010, duly honoured for his sterling acting efforts. Incidentally, Shree Saif's mama Sharmila served as the chairperson of the Central Board of Film Certification from October 2004 to March 2011.
Shree Saif's papa, incidentally was a contributor to congress, which was incidentally in power when the Padma was conferred on Shree Khan.
Junior artists like SP Balasubramaniam had to wait till the communal party came along to be recognised.
Congress is a true meritocracy. It rewards merit. Yes.
