Madan Mitraji, accused and arrested by CBI in the mega ‪Saradha Scam‬ is the Transport & Sports Minister of West Bengal. On 16th December 2014 he claimed at the Alipore Court in Kolkata that he is a 'madman'.

Why was the mad mob showering tons of flowers on the police vehicle carrying the fat & shining scam accused madman to court?

Days may not be too far when brickbats will replace the petals. It's amply clear that he had cheated his own partymen by coaxing them to invest in Sudipta Sen's Saradha Group of companies.

She, supposedly the 'biggest gift of God to mankind', wants her photo to be printed in between photos of Swamiji and Netaji, with taxpayers hard earned money.

Shame! shame! shame!

Shocked to read that in St.Joseph's College, Chennai, a so called "mixed" or Co-ed college, if a girl ever talks to a boy, both sets of parents are summoned to college! Boys and girls have to walk on different sides of the road and drive way.
I understand that there are many more engineering/ general colleges in Tamilnadu, where the 'educationists' have the same mindset.
I have a simple query, if a student's father reaches college to find a lady principal/ dean at the helm of affairs (or vice-versa), will the grandmother or grandfather of the student be summoned?
Would love to be further educated on the subject .... please help.

Vagabond takes charge of Sealdah - Barrackpore EMU Local train

Funny incident at Sealdah (Kolkata) station on the Sealdah - Barrackpore EMU Up Local scheduled for departure at 9.10am on 2014-08-06.
Driver left the train with the door to his cabin unlocked.
A vagabond (drug addicted man) entered into the driver's cabin and locked himself inside.
Driver was unable to enter his cabin and called Railway Protection Force (RPF).
RPF tried to get the vagabond out from driver’s cabin but failed.
The vagabond was busy eating inside the driver’s cabin and seemingly enjoyed the commotion outside.
RPF lured the vagabond with food, biri/cigarette, drugs, money, etc. but failed. No amount of motivation worked.
Finally, RPF opened the door by continuous hammering and thrashed the culprit.
Needless to mention, the train was late in departing from Sealdah station.

'Brides Wanted' advertisement by a very demanding groom

A 50 yr old (5'4" height) non-matric resident of North 24-Parganas district in West Bengal is very demanding when it comes to searching for a bride for himself.
In the very first line of the advertisement in a Bengali newspaper, the wannabe groom claims that he has no demands and says that it's a golden opportunity for potential brides!
He wants the applicant to be fair, beautiful, beauty contest model (sic!), smart, expert in household chores, H.S passed, 25 - 35 yrs age bracket and belong to a particular caste.
The groom doesn't have his father and mother (whatever it means), but has an orphaned nephew (possibly grown-up) who also has to be looked after by the bride-to-be since there's nobody to care for him.
The lady has to contact herself through snail-mail and mention her mobile number while applying for a 'registry-marriage'.
