Delhi Police's Facial Recognition System has identified 2,500+ persons with criminal backgrounds at the Jantar Mantar CJP protest site

Delhi Police's Facial Recognition System (FRS) has identified more than 2,500 individuals with criminal backgrounds at the Jantar Mantar protest site over the past three days, according to police sources. The system was installed after the violence reported during the July 20, 2026 protests to strengthen surveillance.

Police sources said the FRS detected the individuals between July 21 and July 23, 2026 following its deployment in the wake of clashes that broke out during the Opposition-backed agitation.
