India has made unprecedented strides in infrastructure, welfare, and governance, delivering outcomes once deemed impossible in our lifetime. We all desire faster progress, given the ground we still need to cover, but pausing to recognise these milestones fosters appreciation and encouragement.
For perspective, consider Rajiv Gandhi's term: a massive mandate built on sympathy, yet delivering limited lasting impact. In contrast, this government has pursued bold reforms and execution with remarkable integrity; no major scams have marred its record, a rarity in Indian politics.
To those demanding more now: Where was this urgency before 2014? Why weren't previous governments held to the same standards? Selective criticism often reveals more about the critic than the government.
