On Thursday, 2019-05-30, Mamata Banerjee's convoy of Mahindra Scorpios were crossing Bhatpara, Naihati.  SHE was on her way to sit for a 'dharna' to protest against BJP roping in her MLAs and Ward Councillors.
Scores of jute mill workers mainly from Bihar and eastern UP kept chanting #JaiShreeRam.
In the video of the shameless incident, SHE is seen jumping out from her SUV more than once and is clearly heard uttering 'chaamra gutiye debo', yuk! How cheap 😠😠

লোকসভা ভোটের ফল ঘোষণার পরেই কয়েক মাস আগে তৈরি হওয়া রাস্তার ইট রাতের অন্ধকারে তুলে নিয়ে যাওয়ার অভিযোগ উঠল তৃণমূলের কর্মী-সমর্থকদের বিরুদ্ধে। বৃহস্পতিবার রাতে ওই ঘটনা ঘটে দত্তপুকুর থানার কদম্বগাছি গ্রাম পঞ্চায়েতের হেমন্ত বসু নগর ১ মাঠপাড়া এলাকায়। অভিযোগ স্বীকার করে নিয়েছেন স্থানীয় তৃণমূল নেতৃত্ব।

শুক্রবার সকালে এলাকার মানুষ দেখতে পান, কয়েকশো মিটার রাস্তার ইট বিক্ষিপ্ত ভাবে তুলে ফেলা হয়েছে। যার ফলে রাস্তায় তৈরি হয়েছে গর্ত। সাইকেল কিংবা ভ্যানরিকশা চলতে পারছে না। স্থানীয় বাসিন্দাদের দাবি, অবিলম্বে রাস্তা মেরামতির ব্যবস্থা করুক পঞ্চায়েত।

এ দিন সঞ্জয় অধিকারী নামে এলাকার এক বাসিন্দা বলেন, ‘‘ওই এলাকাটি বারাসতের সাংসদ কাকলি ঘোষদস্তিদারের লোকসভা কেন্দ্রের ৫৪ নম্বর বুথের কাছে। সেখানে এ বার বিজেপি-র ভোট বেড়েছে, তৃণমূলের ভোট কমেছে। তাই আমরা যাতে বেহাল রাস্তায় চলাচল করতে না পারি, সেই জন্যই ফল প্রকাশের পরে তৃণমূলের স্থানীয় নেতা-কর্মীরা রাতের অন্ধকারে রাস্তার ইট তুলে ফেলে দিয়েছেন।’’

অভিযোগ স্বীকার করে কদম্বগাছি পঞ্চায়েতের উপপ্রধান ও তৃণমূলের নেতা সুনীল মণ্ডলের সাফ জবাব, ‘‘ওই এলাকায় পঞ্চায়েত ৩৮ লক্ষ টাকার উন্নয়ন করেছে। এত খরচ করে ওই এলাকায় উন্নয়নের বন্যা বইয়ে দিয়েছি। তার পরেও যাঁরা আমার বুথে বিজেপিকে ভোট দেন, তাঁদের কি আমি মিহিদানা, পোলাও খাওয়াব?’’ সুনীলবাবু আরও বলেন, ‘‘ওই রাস্তায় আর ইট পড়বে না।’’

ওই রাস্তা দিয়ে বারাসত-হাসনাবাদ শাখার কড়েয়া কদম্বগাছি রেল স্টেশন হয়ে স্থানীয় মানুষ যাতায়াত করেন। পাশাপাশি, ওই রাস্তা ধরে বাদু রোড হয়ে টাকি রোডের ধর্মতলা মোড়ে ওঠা যায়। এ দিন মাঠপাড়া এলাকার মানুষ জানান, ট্রেন ধরার জন্য অন্য এলাকার অনেকেও রাস্তাটি ব্যবহার করেন। তাঁদের বক্তব্য, রাস্তাটি এখনও পুরোপুরি তৈরি হয়নি। তার মধ্যেই ইট তুলে নেওয়া হল।

On Saturday, 2019-05-04, Mamata's was on her way to an election rally in a convoy to Chandrakona in West Midnapore district of West Bengal.  On hearing people chanting "Jai Shree Ram"  she stopped the convoy, got down from the front seat of her Scorpio and  challenged those people. She was heard uttering the term 'gaalagali' (which means, 'cursing' in Bengali).
What made her think that the term "Jai Shree Ram" is 'gaalagali'?
It has been reported that she even got 7 of the villager folks arrested by her Police.

Singur was abandoned by Tata Motors in early Sept 2008, farmers in despair

A frustrated Mr. Ratan Tata abandoned the Tata Motors Nano plant in Singur, Hooghly district, West Bengal in early September 2008. Mamata Banerjee declared herself victorious. She addressed Mr. Tata as Tata Babu on that fateful evening and whole of Bengal cheered. That marked the doom of West Bengal in every sphere of life.

Fast forward to April - May 2019. Years after the Tata Manufacturing plant was shifted out of West Bengal’s Singur to Gujarat’s Sanand, the farmers involved in the agitation against the Tata behemoth have expressed their regret for the agitation that led to the expulsion. Though they got their land back, the farmers feel cheated as the land is uncultivable and the town doesn’t have enough jobs for them says a report in DNA.

According to the farmers who took a march to Kolkata in 2018 to demand setting up of industries in the region, they were used by political parties in the agitation that culminated into Tata leaving Singur district for their Nano car production. They asserted that if they get a chance to atone for their “mistake”, they would eagerly give away their land for setting up industries in Singur.

However, today the disenchanted farmers, having realised that they had been used as cannon fodder by the politicians have expressed remorse over their decision to agitate against the Tata conglomerate. One of the farmers, Ashok Maity said, “We got nothing out of the agitation. We were used and later dumped to fend for ourselves by the political parties to serve their own purposes. No industries came up in the region, nor the land which was returned to us in 2016 is cultivable. We are living in extreme poverty.”

The farmers in the region had to fight a long and enervating legal battle to get hold of their land. Ashok and his brother got 60 kottah of land. However, the land they got was converted into concrete or covered with wreckage. The agricultural experts believe that with the concrete pillars and slabs on the ground, at least 7-8 inches of topsoil will have to be removed to make it arable again. It is a costly measure and the farmers are not in the position to bear the expenses. Without this procedure, it might take 10 more years for the land to turn tillable.

Many farmers in the district echo Maity’s sentiments. They claim that they were influenced by the political hysteria around the anti-land acquisition movement and got duped by it. They believe if they had provided their land for the industries, Singur would have turned into a teeming industrial town, creating and offering jobs to many and their children wouldn’t have to forage other states in search of jobs.

Bengal's worsening work culture got highlighted once again during cyclone Fani mania on 2019-05-03

There's been a #TsunamiOfDevelopment   (unnayan'er joar) blowing over Bengal only on the 'inspiration' (anuprerona) of 'HER Highness', a self proclaimed #SymbolOfIntegrity ever since mid-2011.

On Friday, 2019-05-03, anticipating Cyclone Fani, SHE wanted all her asses (aam citizens) to take a chill pill and remain at home so that she and her rubber chappal licking Generals can do some more hurried 'unnayan' (development) for self 😠

At 5pm, locations like Park Circus, EM Bypass, Beliaghata Main Road wore a deserted look. Not a single policeman was visible.

At 9.00pm, although hardly drizzling, I took out my 27 yrs old vintage workhorse on two small wheels for a repeat recce of 'work culture' in my already wasted state, presently governed by an aspirational PM.

Findings: There were'nt a single shop open in the busiest parts of Beliaghata Main Road and not a single bus, cab or rogue autos on the road.

There were only a handful of 'loafers' like me clicking photos on the road.

I even overheard a few shop helps huddled together in a dark corner and predicting if #Fani has crossed Digha or Tamluk or Kolaghat. I almost choked when another claimed that the cyclone is heading towards Kolkata from Siliguri, while another said that the Hooghly River might inundate 1 or 2 floors of Nabanna 😠
Those guys were a shade more literate than the QUEEN herself.

I rode a bit further and was stuck by scores of two-wheelers parked on the wide bridge over the smelling canal heading towards Bypass Dhaba. HER dearest 'unnayan vahini' (troublemakers), the recipients of her doles cumulatively running into thousands of crores of rupees (akin to RaGa's Nyay) had haphazardly queued up to buy IMFL and 'bottled and branded  bangla' (country liquor) for the nightlong party to get blown away under the influence of alcohol. Even at the time of reporting well past midnight, it appears that even Cyclone Fani doesn't want to lock horns with HER to get dirty!

I am exhaling fire seeing the awesome 'work culture' in my Wasted Bengal superficially painted blue and white 😈
