Microsoft is India's most 'attractive employer brand', followed by TCS and Amazon

Microsoft has emerged as India's most 'attractive employer brand', followed by TCS and Amazon in the second and third place respectively, according to Randstad Employer Brand Research (REBR) 2024. 

Microsoft scored very high on financial health, good reputation, and career progression opportunities - the top 3 Employee Value Proposition (EVP) drivers for organizations, as per the survey. 

Others in the top 10 most attractive employer brands include Tata Power Company in the fourth position, Tata Motors (5th), Samsung India (6th), Infosys (7th), Larsen & Toubro (8th), Reliance Industries (9th) and Mercedes-Benz (10th). 

The REBR 2024 is an independent survey that covered nearly 1,73,000 respondents and 6,084 companies worldwide with nearly 3,507 respondents in India.

Married at 14 and a mother by 18, N Ambika's journey to becoming an IPS officer is a tale of unwavering resolve. 

Initially, a formal education seemed out of reach for her, but a Republic Day parade that she witnessed with her police officer husband changed everything.

The respect and authority of senior officers sparked her desire to follow a similar path.

Despite being a school dropout with young children, Ambika was determined.

She completed Class 10, and Class 12, graduated through distance learning and relocated to Chennai for better coaching.

Her supportive husband managed childcare, allowing her to focus on her studies. After three attempts, Ambika’s perseverance finally paid off in 2008 when she aced the IPS exam and achieved her dream!

According to an ET report, brands using photos and videos of Indian Olympic medal winners in their ads without sponsoring them will face legal notices for violating personality rights, according to executives managing top Indian athletes. Manu Bhaker, a 22-year-old shooter who won a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics on July 28, 2024, has seen congratulatory messages from brands that haven’t sponsored her. "Since yesterday, almost two dozen brands not associated with Manu have posted congratulatory ads on social media using her images. This is not allowed, and we are sending legal notices to these brands," said Neerav Tomar, MD of IOS Sports & Entertainment, which manages Bhaker. A spokesperson from Baseline Ventures, representing boxer Nikhat Zareen and badminton players Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, added, "Brands that don’t sponsor our athletes cannot legally use their images in ads. If they do, we will take action."
