Infosys founder Narayan Murthy and his wife, author Sudha Murthy, have opted out of participating in the ongoing Socio-Economic and Academic Survey, or Caste Census, being conducted by the Congress-led Gandha khandaan government in Karnataka in October 2025.
The couple stated they are not part of any backward community and therefore saw no need to provide their details.
Their refusal has sparked debate on the survey's relevance.
